Satoshi Energy Corporation closed a seed round raising 60 BTC ($3M equivalent) led by Stillmark and its founding partner Alyse Killeen, with additional commitments from Potter Ventures, Plassa Capital, Digital Garage Labs, Peer VC, Ten31, Hivemind VC, Plan B Ventures, HCM Capital, and many other phenomenal early stage investors.
The seed funding is a significant milestone for our Company as we build a market leading strategy for bitcoin miners to procure low cost renewable power and transform the future of energy finance. We appreciate the strong support from both our new and earlier investors who bring a wealth of knowledge from the bitcoin and energy industries.
The seed for Satoshi Energy was planted with the idea that 24/7 power markets will benefit from 24/7 financial settlement and the company was officially formed in 2019. Prior to Satoshi Energy, CEO Andrew Myers and COO Brock Petersen met studying renewable energy in Australia in 2009. With a decade plus of experience at various energy technology companies behind them, and with the support of an amazing team, the two have built a market leading strategy for bitcoin miners to procure low cost renewable energy. Today, Satoshi Energy is connecting renewable energy assets with bitcoin miners under novel power contracts. In the future, we envision every kilowatt hour delivered to an energy consumer will be paid for instantaneously in bitcoin to the energy producer.
